Lutheran prayer beads, Lutheran rosary, stainless steel, hand-wired, white glass pearls, recycled sea glass, teal sea glass, budded crucifix

$59.00

This set of prayer beads is made with glass pearls, frosted cultured recycled sea glass beads, and features a silver-toned crucifix.

This rosary is hand-wired using stainless steel eye pins and my trusty little looper tool. The beads are connected by these loops.

The smaller beads are 8mm white glass pearls.

The larger beads are 12mm teal frosted cultured glass beads. Recycled glass is used to make the sea glass beads.

The focal point is a silver-toned metal large budded crucifix.
The cross measures 48x32mm.

The cross is silver-toned metal. The jump rings are aluminum.

This rosary is 16 1/2 inches long from the center top to the bottom of the crucifix.

Please note one of the Sunday beads is offset at the center. It is supposed to be that way.

All rosaries, prayer beads, and malas will come in a small organza bag for safe storage.
NOTE: I am required by Etsy to remind you that as with any item with multiple parts, this item should be kept away from small children and pets.
NOTE: Any glass pearls are painted glass. The paint will flake off over time if they are treated roughly. Please don't allow babies to use them as teething beads.
NOTE: Some of the beads will occasionally have a small divot or may not be perfectly round. I do my best to catch any of these before they go out for shipping.
NOTE: The freeform and other "sea glass" beads are frosted, cultured, recycled glass. They may crack open if plonked down on a hard surface. Please use caution. If one should break, contact me and I will make it right.

---------------------------------------------

In doing my research, I found that some Lutherans use the Catholic rosary with modified prayers, some use the Anglican rosary with modified prayers, and some use no rosary or prayer beads at all.

There are several different variations on the Lutheran rosary, but they all center around Lent.

This version was created in 2005 by a seminary member and his wife. This was at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania.

As mentioned before, the rosary is centered around the Lenten season.
There are six sets of six beads representing the days of the week excluding Sunday.
Then there are 7 larger beads representing the Sundays.
Then where they are joined, one of the Sunday beads, and four small ones, then a crucifix.

I do not claim to know everything about this rosary, but my research is ongoing.

I will be adding more information about the symbolism, history, and how to pray the Lutheran rosary.

If you would prefer a cross instead of a crucifix, please let me know and I will swap it out for you.
